TEARS IN HEAVEN

At the time the world began, all things were preordained
A favourable day brings each fruit to ripeness
The baby fish stays quiet in the river while growing
Doesn't want to aim too high or try to jump too far
One day in future, this fish will change and grow
In one bound the baby fish will clear the dragon's lair...
Hold the tears
...

Watched a beautiful & moving DVD last night...Milarepa: Magician, Murderer, Saint.. Milarepa's fame came from his sincerity and honesty in looking at the truth, even the bitter truth, and transforming that into a universal truth, the truth of all beings, the ultimate truth. Reflections of encountering violence and retribution in our very lives...this true story is based on centuries old traditions and how Milarepa is thrown headlong into a world of hate and betrayal, power & socery. He is most known for his 100,000 songs of Milarepa and his unwavering faithfulness & humbleness to his teacher, Marpa & turned his ordinary life into the ultimate legend...the legend lives on, continuing to inspire ...
Inspiration comes in many myriad of forms and colours...the precious one inspires..once again no different from this heart and mind..blessed amrita showered from across the heavens..sweet melodies circles the space..spirit dwelling within spirit..enjoy the mirage and not be fooled.

LETTING GO...BREAKING FREE

"That things change due to their causes..."

In one way or another we all have been forced to learn to Let go of something in our lives...Letting go is definitely THE BUZZWORD nowadays...something easier said then done..

How many times someone tells us not to cling on to a past failed relationship, an unsuccessful career, that unreasonable boss or to quit smoking after 30years??? urghhh..what then is Success???

Success...a totality in life, how we are in our lives, in our careers/business, in our meditation..the list goes on..most of us have the tendency to assume success as all those or other aspects of our lives...Alot of times we are trying to fool others that we have a high maintence success..Is success a quality of being balanced and to have meaning in our lives and to move forward? Personal fame and fortune wouldn't amount to much without fulfillment..Balancing work, family and life is an art in itself so to speak..perfecting the art of living a quality life..
In the heart of it, success really comes down to the ability to care for those individuals around of us and not through manipulation or suppression. It really boils down to the quality of having true meaning and purpose in our whole lives. If we are unsuccessful, then it wouldnt match what our expectation was. We had assumed something and something else happened..versatility counts.

We all go through this everyday.."Am i successful or not??" we have to look at what is happening for ourselves in porportion to what we need, then we are successful..If our lives have a quality where we feel more generous, we have more patience, more unprovoked kindness...and compassion..if these elements all come into play, then we will experience a lightness of being and have more humour, more enjoyment and more success in that sense..Even if we continue to work hard and be successful in the conventional way, but the summation of it is that we are NOT HAPPY , we are more short tempered, less patient and mean to all around us, not listening to them...we can hardly consider that as successful...
*Wind horse flags..
Inner level success and true meaning of success..In tibetan language, they call an individual who is successful a "wind-horse" (Lung-Ta) in tibetan ..and the source of that true success is a sense of living a life that has the quality of being virtuous, being kind and having that unimpededness..Success in our culture is very trying and we are all dealing with it on a daily basis..we have the pressure of our families, of other people..There may not be fireworks going off but if we realize internally that we have generated that and when our lives are moving forward, improving everyday, there will be some kind of naturation taking place..that is success in a very basic way...
Whether we are just meditating or deeping our level of understanding of our world around us, when there is a connection with everyone not just our families...there is a more holistic approach ...I think that as we go along in life, we tend to compartmentalize ...We are a whole human being and we have to learn how to integrate and how to move forward..
May everyone find their true and inner success in their lives..moment to moment..

ANIMAL LIBERATION

Of all misgivings, killing is the worst. Of all meritorious deeds, life liberation is the best.

-The Sastra on Great Wisdom (Da Zhi Du Lun)

Liberated over $200 worth of eels and fish somewhere in Singapore really early this morning @ 7am...with the band of brothers...

Life liberation is the easiest way to dissolve negative karma. Because of this, our negative karma of many lifetimes readily manifests obstacles to obstruct us from liberating life. As many who criticise the practice are plain ignorant of its benefits, we should share with them the benefits out of Compassion, so as to benefit them. We have to be careful not to criticise (or to let others criticise) life liberation as it creates great negative karma. We should not discourage the practice without understanding as we will be preventing many lives from being liberated.

Before releasing them into their natural environment, we chanted mantras such as "Om Mani Padme Hum (the mantra of Compassion) . Lamas recited a special text for liberation .Holy days are preferred for animal liberation and the bigger the group, the more merits are created and shared amongst the sea creatures and other beings...

May all diligently liberate life.If one practises it long, it will lead to long life.If one has the Bodhicitta to help all beings,Even the heavens will help one when in difficulties.
-Maitreya Bodhisattva
Blessed water also sprinkled on the sea creatures

Finally....the big release....letting them all go free

Sending out waves of compassion
All FREE ...at last..
detangling the rest of em eels.....

All beings treasure their lives the most. All Buddhas treasure all beings the most.If one saves other beings' lives, one fulfills the wishes of all Buddhas.-Avatamsaka Sutra (The Practice and Vows of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva)

Stir fried potato leaves, Vegetarian Curry, Chilli Padi with salt....yum..Blogs are funny inventions..they can only be a really tiny fraction on what goes on behind the scenes of our much more complicated lives..but there's a little bit of magic when people connect with you and share their live stories as well...We learn to be that much more humble and our lives feel that much more complete...

A SILLY BIRD

A silly bird who attempts to build a nest of mud
Although it is soaked to the skin and tossed by the wind
The rain finally washes away the nest on the slippery mountain
The tranquil bird does not seek to die on the dangerous journey
No wind, rain or snow could harm it
The deity intervenes, the thousand year old mirror shines again
~~
Teachers are rare and precious, sometimes they take forms beyond the expected. When we make connections with someone who has the capacity to open our hearts to the limitless possibilities of liberation, we have actually only met our own wisdom mind. In that there is always purity. Then there is the great repa Mila who still teaches across time and space pointing to wisdom mind itself. The guru need not be bound in body.

Milarepa:
Not separating appearance and emptiness.
This is view as mastered as it can be

Not seeing dreams and day as differing.
This is as meditation as it can be

Not bliss and emptiness seen as differing.
This is conduct as mastered as it can be

Not seeing the here and hereafter as differing.
This is their nature as mastered as it can be

Not seeing mind and space as differing.
This is as dharmakaya as it can be

When pleasure and pain are not two different things.
This is instruction as mastered as it can be

Not seeing affliction and wisdom as differing.
This is as full as realization can be

Not seeing your mind and buddha as differing.
This is as full a fruition as it can be.

May all be well.. *all Voyagers listen to the passing roar of the waterfall*

HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!

Its time to SHAMROCK & ROLL!..St. Patrick's Day celebrations have already started this weekend @ many Irish pubs across our tiny island...

It's a bigger event in Ireland this year...with thousands attending the colourful and exciting St. Patty's Day parade that passes through O'Connell Street and up the Quays of Dublin's River Liffey ...This year the honour of leading the parade goes to one of Ireland's former top athletes, Eamon Coghlan, who for many years held the record for the fastest mile on the indoor race tracks in the United States and who was without doubt a world champion athlete. He will be leading over 4000 performers who will be applauded by 1.5 million spectators in the streets of Dublin.arghhhhhhhh ..wish I was there...with a few chummies...raising a glass or two..:O)..MUGS of COLD GREEN BEER anyone?? *TELEPORTS*..

Wherever you are celebrating St Patrick's Day this weekend, I hope its a happy one for you and your families.

HAPPY ARE THE FREE!

What a Happy kid..her name's Poppy from Portsmouth, U.K..she sweetly calls her doll Ella...don't that smile just melt yer heart...

Me: Poppy, what makes you happy?
Poppy: Being with Mommy and Ella (kisses her doll) ..
Me: awww..that's so sweet...

Poppy flashed a megawatt smile that brightened both me and my colleague's day...Poppy peered through the glass separating her and the bakers at Hans pressing dough for freshly baked bread...and smiles again...

Walked around the corner and bumped into Happy Poppy, Ella and Mommy again 20 mins later... Mummy said Have a Nice day and Poppy turned back, waved goodbye and blew a sweet little kiss....priceless...happy stuff are made of these...

Poppy...bright and cheery just like her name..

Been a very wet and dreary rainy week but fruitful nonetheless...had the great fortune to meet H.H. Karma Kuchen Rinpoche (one of the 3 heart sons of HH Penor Rinpoche) last week. HH was formally enthroned as the lineage holder of the Palyul Tradition and will become the 12th throne holder of The Palyul Nyingma Lineage. I was blessed by his presence and struck by his humility. This quiet humility and strength definitely an exemplary example to all the younger students..May all his wishes be swiftly fulfilled. In H.H Karma Kuchen's hand, the blessed crystal with 10 powerful mantras.will keep it safe with me for now ..contentment...blessed bliss...

Ageless warrior goddess of golden yellow light
Reunite your sacred breath & winds upon me
Treading on painful memories, flow through me
Flaming the path of beauty weave your magical threads around me ..Blue, Yellow, Pink, Violet ..the gentle dew

moving with the crest of the heart ......A child kneeling in prayer fires the mind ..Healing violet flames surrounds all in abundance ...Quietly setting them free until my dying day

MARBLES GONE?

This isn't my story. It is just a story. There may be meaning for you or not. Doesn't really matter, I'm just having fun, playing with marbles so to speak. All these ideas and notions like marbles rattling around in a jar. When shaken they make a lot of noise. I have had a plenty of them, still do. They served me well.
The yellow ones, and green ones and red ones...I collected a whole jar full. The more I collected, the better it seemed. The Pali Canon, sutras, shastras, madhyamaka, then tantra, oh boy, tantra, those are some cool marbles. I practiced. There were experiences that I chased by trying to figure out the marble it was. A lot of marbles, one provisional view better than the last, succeeds one another, rattling around in that jar. Then by great circumstance I met someone and it shattered that jar. I lost all my marbles. My god, they spilled out onto the ground, the yellows ones, red ones, blue ones and scattered in all directions.

It was devastating, trying to pick up the marbles of cherished ideas of how things should be, especially Dharma, and put them back into the jar. It is like dropping them into a vase with no bottom. With strong confidence and leaping, the devastation evaporated. The marbles were not lost; they were free, laying around on the ground, shining. I pick up the yellow marble and play with it, same for the red one and blue one; holding them in a jar, like possessions, seems pretty dull now.So this Great Completion encourages leaping over, breaking the jar, let the marbles go ,even the most cherished ones. They aren't going to be lost anyway. Be confident, if you can, with giving up the jar of marbles.Once in awhile, I pick up all the marbles and go home.

So if you have indulged me this long, I suggest, once in awhile pick up the marbles and go home. Your heart teacher is the ticket home, but you have to get on the bus yourself. I have found you cannot trade marbles for bus tickets. It is excellent, so I've been told.
Don't loose your marbles...Have a good week!

AMAZING HUG

This woman in the video found the lion injured in the forest ..on the verge of death...She subsequently took the lion with her and nursed it back to health. When the lion was better, she made arrangements with a zoo to take it in and give it a new and happy home in the sanctuary.

This video was taken when the woman went to visit the lion. Watch the lion's reaction when he sees her! Amazing stuff...See to believe..hehe..

I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO GET THAT RARE HUG FROM A LION!...

UNDER THE VAJRA SKY

Under the vajra sky
The Tiger's gaze follows the mystical Garuda

Soaring into the eye of the storm
Sacred Sky Dragon rejoices
A treasure trove lies deep beneath the lotus lake
Approaching the land of rare gems
Magical rainbows and ancient sacred scripts illuminates the whispering clouds
Crystals ablaze in the centre of the mandala
Oh Master of miracles and sacred power,

Bless me I say
Do you know me?
Kneelin 'neath the snow lion throne
The copper coloured mountain beckons

Gem of a film..remarkable beauty

MY SPIRIT FLIES TO YOU

Once in a blue moon you meet some spirits with so much passion ...it touches the very core of your being...Met a musician recently who travels the world touching people with his powerful music..His name is Shibaten from Japan. He had been travelling round the world since 1999 and he is happy to be able to finally live his dream. ..Everything is possible with PASSIOn..close your eyes and listen to the spirit...captivating crowds wherever he goes...bless his spirit...may the music never end..'music breaks all barriers' .. ordinary people with an extraordinary passion for life ...:O)

Secret Energy...Sacred Spirit..
Sinking deeper into the abyss whereupon a light shines
Take His hand he pleads...grabbing onto nothing
Coming out of the darkness into the light
Blinding for an instant the smile that calms the stormiest of seas
Finally without any pre-arrangement the man from the mountain arrives
Bringing consent and favour of the rulers
My spirit flies to you. Dance with me...

Most powerful motivating force ...Compassion actually brings happiness to ourselves and to those around us..it helps those around us..eases our mind in a sense..there is a sense of the sky opening up and theres more sunlight ..Love...a gift to lift us all... Nyingje (compassion in tibetan)..so many people i respect and have admiration for are really compassionate have have Nyingje...Moment to moment..starting a chain reaction in a positive way... being constantly concerned about the love and well being of others.

"My Spirit flies to you"...captivating.. Background chant: Vajrasattva 100 Syllable Mantra + Green Tara Mantra

"Give more love than u can give and you'd receive even more love and gratitude that your heart can ever hold."..

HAVE A GREAT WEEK
