FIRST DAY OF THE NEW YEAR!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh....first day of the year! Slept till almost noon today and woke up feeling kinda weird...another year has gone by so fast ..even before u can say ahhhhhhhhhhhh...

What a better way to start the new year then to dye my hair red..! major cover up job....and also not forgetting to let go of all anger, all hatred, all intolerance..and forgive all that has hurt me in the past..healing comes naturally...

Went to Nyingma Kathok Buddhist Centre to attend a dharma talk from 2-5pm by HH Lhoga Rinpoche on how to have good fortune and happiness in life...haven't visited the centre for almost 2yrs now...who is he? He is the 84th Throne Holder of the Nyingma Kathok Lineage. Its true when he said that there is no point in attending a dharma talk when your heart and soul is not there...see people literally falling asleep...fidgeting..mind thinking of what to eat for dinner...lol...the talk was translated into Chinese by Khenpo Chimed and the whole essence of the whole talk was on how to stop suffering and how to generate Bodhicitta..genuine and not contrived...also talked about how hard it is for anyone to take on others suffering & sorrow as your own and breathe out joy..(lo jong)....the practice of which enables one to transform the inevitable problems of life into the causes for enlightenment...hmmm..suddenly this song came to mind..."The road is long with many a winding turn that leads us to who knows where ..who knows when ..I'm strong ..Strong enough to carry him...He ain't heavy, he's my brother".

Happy to have met up with people I have not seen for a long long time and also meet new aquaintances for coffee...share experiences etc.......i just thought to myself how precious this human life is in this age of degeneration...my favourite quote from HH the 14th Dalai Lama...

A Precious Human Life
"Every day, think as you wake up Today I am fortunate to have woken up. I am alive and I have a precious human life. I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, To expand my heart out to others, To achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others. I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others As much as I can."
